Coleman Development Group and its predecessors have been residential and commercial developers and managers for more than 60 years, beginning in 1945 when the founding father, Richard L. Coleman, started RL Coleman & Company.

For over half a century, Richard Coleman, along with his sons, developed and managed many prestigious properties in the Western North Carolina area. Projects ranged from multi-family residential communities to single dwelling neighborhoods as well as the very first indoor mall in Asheville – a first of its kind.

After the retirement of his father in 1995, Thomas W. Coleman founded Coleman Development Group, carrying forward the reputation and excellence that has been at the heart of every Coleman project.
